The IAWRT regional conference, in collaboration with the Association of Documentary Filmmakers in Turkey, started this morning in Istanbul, Turkey. The first session was on securing safety nets for women in the media. Other program highlights include: Understanding the Turkey Experience with a panel of journalists from Turkey; the challenges for journalists in the Northern Africa – Arab Region; screening of the IAWRT AWARDS honorable mention for TV 2013. IAWRT is also organizing the first ever safety training with the International News Safety Institute (INSI).
